Who are you?


  • 4+ years of experience in backend application development using Scala and Java.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent proven experience.
  • Experience working with location data and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of programming best practices, writing clean, reusable, and reliable code.
  • Quality-driven mindset with experience in unit testing, performance testing, and writing testable code.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure tools such as Maven/SBT, Git/Gerrit, Apache Spark, AWS, Jenkins, and Linux.
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, and detail-oriented, with an agile mindset and strong team collaboration skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken

We’re looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Japan Data Ingestion team. In this role, you’ll drive the expansion and optimization of Japan’s map compilation and ingestion processes, helping to build the most comprehensive high-definition live map for autonomous driving.

Working in an Agile environment, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ingest, analyze, and process location data on the HERE Platform. Your work will deliver digital maps in NDS formats that go directly into vehicles, powering next-generation navigation and self-driving applications.
