Z DOMOVA Raster Data Engineer | New generation digital maps

Would you like to be a part of the team that works on something meaningful? We’re looking for a Raster Data Engineer to shape the way our maps and datasets power real-world applications. You’ll build and maintain automated pipelines for processing raster data, keep our datasets up-to-date across cloud and server environments, and scout new open geospatial sources. You’ll work with Earth Observation, Terrain, Weather, and Satellite data, transforming raw inputs into beautiful, scalable base maps.
How we work
We work in 2-week sprints.
We plan development in Jira, as well as individual tasks.
Our applications run in Docker containers, we version Ansible playbooks in Git and keep documentation in Confluence.
Google Workspace is used for electronic communication (Chat, Meet, Email).
The companys structure is based on the unFIX model, which helps innovation and agile development.
What you will do
Building and maintaining automated pipelines for raster data processing (using Python and Prefect).
Retrieving and downloading of new open geospatial (raster) data from open public sources.
Regular updating of existing datasets.
Creating and maintaining tilesets.
Processing of Earth Observation, Weather and Climate, and Terrain datasets.
What we expect from you
Understanding geospatial data basics (and GIS in general).
Understanding the basics of coordinate reference systems.
Raster data characteristics.
Process automation using Python.
Team player who can work autonomously.
Nice to have
Perfect work orchestration, Kubernetes.
GDAL and Python libraries for geospatial data processing: Fiona, Rasterio, Shapely.
Linux environment and remote access to servers (ssh).
Cloud infrastructure experience.
Familiar with OGC API.
Understanding principles of web mapping and tiling services.
