    Why join us?

Because what we build actually goes into the water and does the job - for both commercial and military use. Its real-world autonomy, not just theory.

We’re a driven and focused team. You’ll have space to try things, ask questions, suggest better ways, and be heard. Your work won’t disappear into a backlog. It will shape the product. We all care about doing things well, learning as we go, and having each other’s back.

If you want to work on something that truly matters, with people who actually care, this might be your place.

This particular role is for someone who wants to research, experiment, deliver results, and take full ownership of their area.

If all that resonates with you, go ahead and send us your resume. We’d love to chat and see if this is a great fit for you.

    What this role gives you

    • Meaningful autonomy, since you take ownership of the LLM area in a real-world autonomy system, not just a list of tasks to check off,
    • A people-first culture with a supportive and friendly team, where you’re valued as a person.
    • The opportunity to build and grow AI expertise in LLMs, which is a new and evolving direction in our technology stack,
    • A collaborative and skilled team, where you may work with top engineers & innovators who value learning and mentorship in a culture of trust and open communication.
    • Hybrid work model, where home office meets 3 days per week in our Gdańsk office,
    • Private healthcare coverage,
    • Multisport benefit,
    • Eyewear subsidy,
    • Office stocked with snacks and refreshments,
    • Team lunches every Wednesday.

    About our company

Sea Machines is a fast-growing startup specializing in autonomous technology for marine vessels.

We are passionate about applying practical A.I. to the massive global ocean transportation market.

Our products provide ships and workboats with the intelligence to work remotely and give maritime operators the tools to communicate with them effectively.

Based in Poland and operating globally, the company is crewed by an experienced team of mariners, engineers, coders, and autonomy scientists.

,[Fine-tune and adapt open-weight LLMs (e.g., LLaMA, Mistral, Phi, GPT-J) for behavior reasoning and decision-making tasks. , Develop training datasets based on real-world mission logs, vessel behaviors, and operator interactions. , Implement reinforcement learning (human-in-the-loop or simulated) to improve decision quality. , Integrate LLM components into the autonomy software stack, collaborating with perception, planning, and control teams. , Evaluate model performance using simulations and behavioral benchmarks. , Build pipelines for data preprocessing, labeling, and continuous improvement. , Ensure safe, interpretable, and verifiable model outputs. , Support the deployment of optimized models in edge or onboard environments. ] Requirements: AI, Machine Learning, PyTorch, CUDA, C++, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers, CUDNN, LoRa , PEFT, JAX, Gazebo, ROS Additionally: Private healthcare, Flexible working hours, Sport subscription, Small teams, International projects, Free snacks, Free coffee, Bike parking, Free beverages, Modern office, Startup atmosphere.
